When you arrive, please visit the Front Reception Desk of the Parkside Hotel and ask for a key up to Mezzanine or MindKey Health. The lovely hotel staff will provide a temporary key and point you in the right direction across the pond. Dr. Roberts supervises our doctoral residents at our locations in Sidney and Westshore. In this role, Dr. Roberts provides experienced guidance, knowledge and expertise ensuring all doctoral resident services are of the same high quality and excellence standard Dr. Roberts herself has provided for over 20 years.
Dr. Roberts contributes to the Globe and Mail and Today’s Parent, among other platforms, and is a highly sought-after expert by journalists in the field of child psychology. She is the author of two best-selling and award-winning series of children’s books. “Just Enough” explains topics like birth and diversity to children ages 3-6, while “The World Around Us” introduces kids ages 5-8 to issues like poverty and online safety. She is also the author of “Kids, Sex & Screens: Raising Strong, Resilient Children in the Sexualized Digital Age”, a book for parents seeking to help their preteens navigate our hyper-sexualized world.
In addition to being a highly sought after registered psychologist, tenured professor and author, Dr. Roberts is also a wife and a mom to three children.

Jenn is the clinical director and has been involved with Dr. Jillian since 2017. She oversees operations and clinical products. She has a teaching degree, a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology, and is also a Registered Clinical Counsellor. She is currently completing a Doctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology at California Southern University. When out of office she enjoys travelling and being in the outdoors. Jenn also shamelessly enjoys reality tv competition shows.

Sylvie works in a supervisory role for the MindKey doctoral residents. In this role, Dr. Pappas provides experienced guidance, knowledge and expertise, ensuring all doctoral resident services are of the same high quality and excellence standard Dr. Pappas herself has provided for over 20 years.
Dr. Pappas is a neuropsychologist, holding a Master’s in Psychiatry and a PhD in Psychology. She began her career assessing and diagnosing children in residential treatment centers and school districts across Alberta and the Northwest Territories. Her expertise expanded to include assessing developmental disabilities, brain injuries, prenatal alcohol exposure, psychiatric disorders, and neurodegenerative disorders in adults. Dr. Pappas served as the lead Neuropsychologist at the Glenrose Hospital FASD Clinic in Edmonton, Alberta, and was engaged with the University of Alberta, contributing as an instructor and clinical supervisor. In addition, she has held the positions of Chief Psychologist and Coordinator of Assessment Services at a regional treatment facility. Dr. Pappas has been recognized as an expert witness, testifying in the Provincial Court of Alberta and the Court of Queen’s Bench.

I am a Registered Psychologist (#7138) in Alberta and Canadian Certified Counsellor. I am in the process of registering in BC. I understand that physical and mental health concerns can impact life in various ways. My approach is to provide a non-judgmental space for people to find the root cause of their presenting concerns, while providing practical tools that can be applied immediately towards the change people would like to see in themselves. I have experience working with people who have borderline personality disorder, PTSD, ADHD, and/or who are experiencing difficulties with life transitions such as with illness, relationships, and grief, including end of life.
I have training in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I also practice from the perspective of Trauma-Informed Care. I enjoy working with people of all faiths, and cultural backgrounds, and people who are a part of the LGBTQ2S+ community.
During my 17+ years working in healthcare, I have developed a passion for supporting people who are experiencing difficult life transitions and grief, including end of life. I was an occupational therapist and a yoga instructor before a therapist, and can offer a wholistic view. Outside of work, I travel, hike, cycle, and spend time with my two dogs.

Stephen Roberts, MA, RCC is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. Stephen brings a diverse history of lived experience to his counselling practice. Stephen approaches each client with the belief that with the right support and encouragement we all have the ability to lead more productive and fulfilled lives. Starting from a place of empathy and compassion, Stephen guides his patients through a respectful examination of their life choices with the goal of providing them with the practical tools they need to meet their true potential.
Stephen received his Master of Arts from Liberty University, with a specialty in Marriage and Family Counselling. Prior to becoming a counsellor, Stephen earned a Doctorate and Master’s degree from the University of British Columbia, and a BA from Queen’s University.

Over the last 5 years of her degree, Charlotte has worked in various private practice settings throughout BC, gaining experience conducting assessments and therapy with individuals across the lifespan. She recently completed her pre-doctoral residency at MindKey Health.
In her spare time, Charlotte enjoys exploring Vancouver Island and going on camping adventures with her partner Callum and her English setter Dudley.

Mary-Beth is recent West Coast transplant hailing from rural Nova Scotia. Though her educational background is in pure mathematics and physics, her professional experience spans widely and often centres on community and relationship building. While living in Halifax, Mary-Beth managed a local student food bank, solidifying her passion for local outreach and engagement. She played an active role in local Mutual Aid organizations and community support groups providing hot meals, firewood, and emergency supplies to unhoused neighbours.
Her experience in private psychology stems from her dedication to health care advocacy and accessibility. Later in Halifax, Mary-Beth managed a private psychology clinic that focused on therapy and counselling, particularly with PTSD and CPTSD. This opportunity provided Mary-Beth with significant experience in clinic management and client support services.
Now the Clinic Coordinator at MindKey Health, Mary-Beth is settling into her role, and Victoria, comfortably. When she isn’t whizzing around the Jane app, Mary-Beth enjoys writing, photography, and embroidery. Please note Mary-Beth needs to be home every day at 7:30pm for Jeopardy!

Keana has BA (Hons) of Psychology from UVic. With a passion for research, reading, writing, and helping others, Keana holds many roles in her community. She is a Research Assistant in two labs investigating relationships and brain health, and the Research Coordinator for a new project investigating the levels of social isolation in dementia patients and their caregivers. Keana has had the opportunity to co-author an upcoming publication regarding mental health stigma in the media and is looking forward to completing her current papers to be submitted for review. As a mentor, Keana supports students struggling with their mental health through her involvement with UVic’s Mental Health Leadership Program, and helps children of stroke survivors adapt to changes and challenges through the University of Victoria Stroke Awareness Association. She has worked with children, young adults, and older adults and recognizes everyone’s unique strengths and weaknesses.
Keana aims to help individuals improve their educational experience by offering strategies that allow students to further engage with course concepts. Her strengths lay in goal-setting and motivation, notetaking and organization, and reading and writing. Alongside her other specialities, Keana can provide help to individuals who worry for their upcoming exam by suggesting test preparation and anxiety reduction strategies.

Andrea completed her Master of Counselling Psychology Degree from Yorkville University in 2021. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with The British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), and a Certified Canadian Counsellor with The Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). She has also completed the San’yas Indigenous Cultural Safety Training. She works with children (including those dealing with ADD, ADHD and those on the Autism spectrum), Adults (single & couples) and their families. Andrea also works with LGBTQIA2S+ individuals providing gender and sexuality affirming and inclusive counselling care.
Since moving to Victoria in 2013 she has been involved with several organizations including Stigma-Free Society (Formerly, The Bipolar Disorder Society of British Columbia) as a Mental Health group facilitator and Mental Health Recovery Partners, South Vancouver Island (Previously, The British Columbia Schizophrenia Society, Victoria Branch) as a peer support worker.

Cristina has her Master of Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University. Cristina has always been drawn to work and volunteering opportunities helping others. She grew up in Switzerland where she later returned to work as a primary and special education teacher. Cristina is well travelled and has lived and work abroad in many countries. Cristina previously lived in Victoria for five years working with adults in mental health and addiction programs. She then left for five years to travel and further her studies, before returning to the beautiful West Coast. Cristina has extensive experience working with individuals struggling with persistent mental health challenges and she works within a biopsychosocial spiritual framework.
Cristina’s approach to counselling is gentle, informal, and is a mutual and collaborative alliance based on safety, trust, and unconditional positive regard. Cristina believes that everyone has a unique story and will help you work towards your preferred story. Cristina’s goals in counselling are to support client goals and help them become the best version of themselves. Cristina enjoys working with children, youth, families and adults from all walks of life including the LGBTQ+ community. She would be honoured to help you along on this journey.

Currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) at Yorkville University, Keeley’s therapeutic journey has involved an extensive history of working with children and youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This background has provided her with a deep appreciation for the nuances of working with diverse populations, highlighting patience, flexibility, and creativity in her practice.
As a counselling intern, Keeley brings a blend of empathy, warmth, and compassion to her therapeutic journey. By understanding that each individual is unique, she tailors her approach to fit the specific needs of clients, drawing from various therapeutic modalities including person-centered, strengths-based, cognitive and behavioural, and solution-focused techniques. Her goal is to foster a safe environment for clients to feel heard, valued, and empowered in navigating life challenges whether it be through exploring thoughts and feelings, developing coping skills, or identifying strengths and resources.

Hayley has worked with children and teens since 2003 in various capacities including in schools and homes as a behavioural interventionist and a learning support teacher. She has worked with a range of students who have mental, physical or learning disabilities such as: Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Dyslexia, Cerebral Palsy.

During her undergraduate career, Stephanie’s research on the importance of bilingual mental health services was published by the James Madison Undergraduate Research Journal. Since moving to Vancouver Island in 2017, Stephanie has built a career in health & wellness, most recently working in program coordination with a lifestyle medicine clinic. Stephanie looks forward to exploring her passions for psychology & research as a Research Assistant with Dr. Jillian Roberts.
Additionally, Stephanie is a certified yoga instructor in Victoria, British Columbia, her studies rooted in Vinyasa, Hatha, and Yin yoga.
